Official: Maritzburg Confirm Technical Team

Maritzburg United have confirmed the whole technical team around new head coach Fadlu Davids.

The former Orlando Pirates co-head coach brought along ex-Buccaneers goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands as Goalkeeper Coach as well as former Pirates Analyst Darian Wilken as his new assistant, as already reported by iDiski Times in November.

“Meet our technical team behind Coach Fadlu Davids. Wayne Sandilands (Goalkeeper Coach), Darian Wilken (Assistant Coach), Burger Van Der Merwe (Physical Trainer) and Mueez Kajee (Performance/Video Analyst),” the club stated on Thursday.

Van Merwe was previously fired by the club at the end of last season alongside coach Ernst Middendorp.

He previously worked at AmaZulu before leaving them when they went down at the end of 2014/15 season to take over at the Team of Choice.  

He is also very familiar with coach Fadlu Davids, as he worked with him before at the club when he was the assistant and head coach.

Meanwhile, Kajee worked with Davids before at the club and with Middendorp also at the club and at Free State Stars.
