Ntseki Explains Chivaviro Absence – iDiski Times

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has explained why new striker Ranga Chivaviro is again not in the squad for the friendly match against Township Rollers.

Chivaviro, 30, joined the club after an impressive campaign from Marumo Gallants last season that saw him score 17 goals, including seven in the CAF Confederations Cup.

His fine performances saw many clubs interested in his services, including Young Africans SC, Orlando Pirates and Richards Bay.

The latter claim he signed a pre-contract with them and Bay chairman Sifiso Biyela had stated he will take the matter to the PSL DC.

However, Ntseki insisted the reason for Chivaviro’s is because he was carrying a small injury.

“Ranga came in with a bit of a medical issues and he’s recovering very well,” he told SuperSport TV.

“We are happy to see his recovery. We felt it’s not necessary for us to risk him in this game.

“I think he’s also looking forward to his first game in the Kaizer Chiefs colours.”

Ntseki rung the changes for the friendly against Township Rollers, making eight changes to last week’s 1-0 defeat to Yanga. He did explain that he wants to profile many of his players ahead of next week’s DStv Premiership opener against Chippa United.

“We are preparing every member of the squad, which is very important,” he added.

“So that whenever we have to play, we are preparing for the season, we are not preparing for one game, which means every player you have in the squad has to be ready to play.

“If you look at the players we’ve used last week and the ones we’re using this week, we’re actually making a proper profiling of the individuals in the squad in terms of readiness for the first game.”
