Nodada Future Clarified Amid Sundowns Links

Mamelodi Sundowns have not made an official move for Cape Town City midfielder Thabo Nodada, his agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has suggested.

Nodada, 27, is widely regarded as one of the most consistent midfielders in the DStv Premiership and has been a mainstay in the City squad since acquiring his former club Mpumalanga Black Aces.

While the player has been linked with Orlando Pirates and Sundowns for several seasons now, it’s been speculated that Sundowns may up the ante in their pursuit of the player ahead of next campaign.

Having released Sibusiso Vilakazi and George Maluleka who have since joined Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu respectively, there’s been murmurs that Nodada may be on his way to Chloorkop this month, but his representative says there’s been nothing concrete as of now.

“The truth is that nothing has happened around Thabo right now, there’s nothing to talk about for Thabo [to Sundowns],” Mahlakgane told iDiski Times.

“At the moment I think he’s very much a Cape Town City player as John Comitis said.”

The South Africa international who’s just four games shy of 150 appearances in the South African top-flight has scored 14 goals and registered 10 assists in the process.
