Ndengane Next To Leave Maritzburg Utd

Former Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic defender Alfred Ndengane will leave Maritzburg United by the end of the month.

The 36-year-old joined the Team of Choice in July 2021 from Tshakuma Tsha Mandzivhandila.

In the two years he spent at Maritzburg he made 38 appearances and scored four goals, with 12 of those coming in 2022/23.

The experienced defender played a vital role when TTM won the Nedbank Cup in 2020/21, which was his first trophy in the professional football.

It has reached this publication that the Cape Town-born centre-back will depart Maritzburg Utd when his contract expires by the end of June.

Maritzburg are ahead of the major squad overhaul after Travis Graham, Ali Meza, Renaldo Leaner, Wayde Jooste, Friday Samu, Siboniso Conco and King Ndovu have all left the club following their relegation.

In addition, the club has also parted ways with he technical team around head coach Fadlu Davids, who has since been appointed as Josef Zinnbauer’s assistant at Raja CA.
