Mamelodi Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba has warned his side that Tuesday’s clash against Polokwane City will be a “difficult” one.
Downs will be away from home for the third consecutive time, with their last home match being the 4-0 win at home against Lamontville Golden Arrows two weeks ago.
The defending league champions still have a 100% record in the 2023/24 and are the only team left unbeaten in the league after just five games.
Modiba, who has been playing different roles this season so far, explained that Polokwane City will be a difficult opponent, especially playing at home in front of their supporters.
“We are expecting a very tough match, because every game is tough, a difficult one,” he told the club’s media team.
“I think they’ve done fairly well because on the log their are number six it shows that they are doing something good.
“We are expecting a very difficult game but I think we have players that can put a very good performance on the day so that we can be able to collect the points.
“But playing in their own backyard, obviously the supporters will be cheering for them, but we are ready for the game and I think we will be able to do well.“
Downs face Polokwane City at 17:00 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.
