Kgosientso “Sputla” Ramokgopa is a name many South Africans have come to know as the country’s first-ever Minister of Electricity. But with Stage 8 load shedding in full swing, he’s not exactly Mzansi’s favourite person right now.
The 48-year-old former mayor of Tshwane assumed the task of tackling the energy crisis and, hopefully, eradicating load shedding.
And with his new appointment, his professional life and private life have become a hot topic of interest.

WHO IS THE MINISTER OF ELECTRICITY’S WIFE?
On 25 January 2015, Kgosientso – commonly known as “Sputla” – married his baby mama Georgia Shekeshe in a beautiful wedding ceremony. And it was a double celebration for the now Minister of Electricity: his wedding day was also his 40th birthday!
He said of the special day: “The most beautiful woman on earth agreed to be the mother of our children and to be #MrsRamokgopa”.

Here are a few facts about the couple.
Kgosientso and Georgia have a 13-year age gap. They met in 2011 when Georgia was a PA to the-then Tshwane mayor. At the time, she was 23 years old.
When their relationship turned romantic, Georgia resigned from her post.
The couple had both a traditional wedding in Limpopo in 2014 and a white wedding in Paarl in 2015.
On her wedding day, Georgia wore a dress imported from Spain. She was also given the name Mmatabudi in accordance with Kgosientso’s Batlokwa culture.
The couple have a son, Matthew, who is now nine years old.
