Mashego – I Was Looking Forward To This Game

Terrence Mashego is disappointed after an injury ruled him out of next week’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco, but the Bafana Bafana left back hopes to bounce back soon.
The Cape Town City player had to unfortunately withdraw from Hugo Broos squad before the team departed for the North African nation, due to a knee injury

While disappointed to miss out, the 25-year-old says there is good cover for the position with Lyle Lakay and Innocent Maela in the squad.
Mashego has been a regular for Bafana under Broos, winning all five of his caps under the Belgian coach.
“Ja, I mean it’s a very bad situation but I think it’s not a bad injury because you just said it’s just the tear on meniscus so I believe I’ll heal fast,” he told SAFA media.
“Ja, like I was looking forward to this game, but I believe like, we still have Lyle Lakay and Maela, who I believe they will do the job.
“I just have to focus on my injury right now and make sure that I come back.”
