Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s Nedbank Cup round of 32 encounter at Harry Gwala stadium.
It’s expected to be fire-works in Mgungundlovu this evening as 2018 Nedbank Cup finalists go blow-to-blow with the 2013 champions.
The Team of Choice haven’t been doing well in this competition since reaching the final in 2017/18 under Davids, but losing to 1-0 to Free State Stars.
With the return of Davids, who collected 10 points from his first six games in charge, everything seems possible, especially playing at home on a Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Amakhosi have only this one competition left to end their seven-and-a-half year trophy drought.
Much like the rest of the league, the have dropped all but out of the title race after losing three of their five games in 2023.
The last time Maritzburg United won against Kaizer Chiefs at Harry Gwala Stadium was back in March 2015, with Chiefs winning their last three direct clashes without conceding.
