Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has confirmed that Azola Matrose will remain at Chippa United until the end of the season.

Matrose, 19, was signed by Orlando Pirates from Chippa ahead of the 2022/23 season but was immediately loaned back to also be able to finish his school in Gqeberha.

The left footer has been key to the Chilli Boys in the campaign so far and his goal secured a point for them against Stellenbosch FC.

United head coach Mammila confirmed that the 19-year-old will remain with the Eastern Cape-based side until the end of the season and not return to his parent club in January.

“No, Azola is a Chippa United player until the end of the season,” Mammila told iDiski Times.

In the current campaign the Eastern Cape-born forward has made 13 appearances in all competitions for Chippa United, scoring on two occasions.

Chippa and Matrose will be back in action on Friday night when they will face Swallows FC in Johannesburg.
