Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila says those who are doubting his coaching credentials must continue to do so.
Mammila said there’s nothing he can prove to anybody because he has won leagues and will continue to do his job at Chippa United.
Mammila guided Chippa to their third league win on the bounce, beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in what was a come-from-behind victory at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
As this was the third win on the trot for Chippa, they moved to seventh on the log table with 14 points after 10 matches.
Chippa, to be in this position, have also beaten AmaZulu and Marumo Gallants respectively before Chiefs. That win against AmaZulu came also at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
“I’m not here to prove a point to anybody else,” said Mammila in Durban.
“I have won leagues – Castle League up until the Motsepe Foundation Championship until the PSL. I even won the Telkom Knockout in the PSL [all as a CEO of Baroka FC]. What I have, most coaches in the PSL don’t have.
“If you ask coaches, have you promoted the team from LFA to Castle and the answer is no. Have you ever promoted a team from Castle to ABC Motsepe League, the answer is no. Have you ever promoted the team from ABC Motsepe League to Motsepe Foundation Championship, the answer is no. Have you ever promoted the team from Motsepe Foundations Championship to the PSL top flight, the answer is no.
“But if you ask me, I’ll say yes, yes, yes. I’ll tick all the boxes.”
As Mammila claims to have ticked all the boxes, he becomes the first coach at Chippa to win the first three games in charge.
