Laffor – That’s Where Hunt Belongs

Former SuperSport United forward Anthony Laffor came out to speak about Gavin Hunt’s appointment at SuperSport.

‘Matsatsantsa’ announced the return of Hunt on Thursday nine years after he left the club. Hunt was with the ‘Tshwane Giants’ between 2007 and 2013 and won three league titles and one Nedbank Cup title.

Laffor was amongst the players that won two league titles with the Cape Town-born coach. The Liberian labelled Hunt as someone who’s ambitious and knows how to get the best out of the players.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward who was last in the books of Chippa United praised the appointment of the former Bidvest Wits coach.

“He has been a good coach, I won the league twice with him. He is the coach that knows how to get the best out of the players and he demands a lot from his players. Laffor told iDiski Times.

The 37-year-old thinks Matsatsantsa’s youthful team won’t be a disadvantage for Hunt, as he gave a lot of young players a chance in his coaching career. Even ‘Snotty’ himself was 23 years old when he joined SuperSport United from Jomo Cosmos. The Pretoria-based side had an average of 25 years old players when hunt won his first league title with the side.

“Even when we won the league at SuperSport United we didn’t have much of experienced players, we had a lot of young players who did their best. I feel like this is where he belongs. And sometimes it’s not all about who you have in the team but what can the coach get out of the players. I wish he succeeds because he is one of the best coaches,” he concluded.
