Khanye – 3 Downs Stars Were Off Vs Pirates

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye says three Mamelodi Sundowns players didn’t have a great match against Orlando Pirates, despite them registering their 15th win on the trot in the DStv Premiership this season.

The win came courtesy of Cassius Mailula’s sole goal against at Orlando Stadium on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of the log to 23 points, with two games in hand.

Khanye, though, who has continuously spoken positive about the defending DStv Premiership champions, says captain Themba Zwane, top goal scorer Peter Shalulile and Neo Maema all had an off day.

“Truly speaking Mshishi was off. I don’t know why Rulani kept him on,” he said on iDiskiTV.

“Playing Mailula and Tso’s player, Shalulile… Why play both of them? You are supposed to play with a left-wing forward, a right-wing forward so that there is a balance and you keep Mailula central. Don’t do favours.

“Yes, Shalulile is a good player but between Mailula and Shalulile one of them must sit out so that you get that right-wing forward and left-wing forward for balance.

“Sundowns players didn’t come to the party. The front three, Mshishi was off. Maema in the middle, I don’t understand the body language and he is one of the best players. He didn’t do well.

“Shalulile was off as well. Mkhulise was on and off. The Sundowns system needs everybody to move.”
