Danny Jordaan has been re-elected as the President of the South African Football Association, for a third successive term.

He beat out challengers Ria Ledwaba and Solly Mahlabeng in a landslide victory. According to early reports, Jordaan received 186 votes, while Ledwaba received 27. Mohlabeng received eight.

Jordaan will thus be in charge of SAFA for the next four years. He had originally been elected in 2013, succeeding Kirsten Nematandani.

The build-up to the elections had been mired by controversy, and on Friday matters took a different turn when SAFA NEC members verbally abused and manhandled members of the media at a press conference at the Sandton Convention Centre.
