Mamelodi Sundowns legend Daniel “Mambush” Mudau has hailed the roles of Andile Jali and Themba Zwane for their club amidst the debate over their continued omission from Bafana Bafana.
Jali and Zwane belong to the mainstays in Mamelodi Sundowns’ squad, which is still chasing the quadruple in 2021/22.
However, despite their exploits at club level, Zwane, 32, and Jali, 31, don’t seem to play a role in Hugo Broos’ plans for Bafana, which has raised continued question marks.
Mudau, though, has praised both players for their roles in the Masandawana squad.
“He [Jali] is one player who has performed so well, so much that he has gained the attention of the Technical Team and that has propelled him to being one of the Captains of the team,” he told Downs media team.
“He can distribute the ball well thanks to his long and short passing range and you can see that he is enjoying his game.”
Mudau was also full of praise for Zwane, saying he is the one who makes the Brazilian’s attack click.
“The guy is a genius, he has his style of play which makes him a top player. He is much disciplined and that is why you can see how he puts in five-star performances every game,” the club legend added.
“He is one player that makes the team play and attacks more on their opponents, he can change the game easily and knows how to compliment his teammates.
“He plays the game so simple thanks to his one-two touches which are very deadly in opening the opponent’s defence.”
Sundowns return to action on Saturday when they will face Al Merrikh in their final CAF Champions League group stage match.
