Young Africans SC striker Fiston Mayele has admitted that Raja Casablanca, Al Hilal of Sudan, and Kaizer Chiefs are the teams that were interested in his signature.
The DRC forward admitted that he came close to joining Chiefs before he changed his mind and stayed in Tanzania with Young Africans.
Mayele was heavily linked with Amakhosi as they also still looking for a number nine and the Democratic Republic Of Congo striker still has one year left on his contract with the Tanzanian champions was heavily linked with the club.
“It is true that Kaizer Chiefs expressed interest. There were also many other teams, but Kaizer Chiefs were close to signing me,” Mayele told Azam Sports
“I am glad that I am back for our pre-season and I believe if we have a good pre-season, then we will probably have a good season.
“There was also Al Hilal of Sudan and Raja Casablanca. But all in all, I am still a Yanga player because I signed a two-year deal. One year is done and I remain with one year left in my contract.”
The 28-year-old helped Yanga win a domestic treble last season which included the NBC Premier League invincible record. He scored 16 goals in the league finishing behind George Mpole striker of Geita Gold Football that scored 17 goals for the Golden Boot.
