Former Uzalo actress Hope Mbhele, who portrays the character of Baleka in Shaka Ilembe has exited the Mzansi Magic show. The actress, who is famously known for her role as MaBusi in Umkhokha: The Curse, took to her Instagram account on Wednesday, 16 August to bid farewell to her role as Baleka in Shaka Ilembe.
Inside Hope Mbhele’s Exit
In her Instagram post, Mbhele wrote “A woman choosing herself and her own path. May we be more of these women. 🤍🙏🏽 until we meet again Baleka. Happy Choose Day.” Her character Baleka parted ways with her love interest King Dingiswayo (played by Thembinkosi Mthembu) in the Mzansi Magic drama series on Sunday, 13 August. She revealed to Dingiswayo that she is needed elsewhere after he dethroned his brother Mawewe (played by Wanda Zuma) and was crowned king.
Baleka was a healer for the Mthethwa King Jobe (played by Hamilton Dlamini) and later King Makhasana of the Mabhudu (played by Vusi Kunene).
Shaka Ilembe Fans React to Her Role
Fans of Shaka Ilembe have taken to social media to react to Mbhele’s exit from the show.
