Galaxy & Sundowns Starting XIs Announced
TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their line-ups for tonight’s DStv Premiership clash.
Sundowns enter the game after extending their record-breaking winning streak to 12 league matches to open a 16-point gap at the top of the log.
Galaxy, meanwhile, picked up their fourth defeat of the campaign after going down to Cape Town City last Friday.
Overall, Gallants have only picked up one win over their last 14 league matches and have dropped down the log standings.
After starting the 2022/23 season with nine points from their first five matches, which included a shock win over tonight’s opponents, Sead Ramovic’s men only picked up nine points in their other 14 games.
Sundowns, meanwhile, have only lost twice this season, against the Rockets and Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United.
TS Galaxy have the worst home record, collecting just seven points at home, while the Masandawana lead the away table with 19 from a potential 24 points.
Tonight’s clash will also be a meeting of the league’s best two defences, with Sundowns only conceding six goals in 18 games so far, while Galaxy have only conceded nine.
Rulani Mokwena has made eight changes to the starting XI who beat Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend, and there’s a first potential opportunity for young DDC striker Jerome Karelse, who makes the bench.
Here is how they line up:
Galaxy XI: Buthelezi, Munyai, Msimango, Sanoka, Nyama, Mbunjana, Parker, Hlongwane, Radebe, Traore, S.Mahlangu
Subs: Kolak, Mere, Phohlongo, Mlambo, M.Mahlangu, Seema, Mongae, Daya, Sebelebele
