Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 Township Rollers in Botswana in the second game of their African pre-season tour, thanks to a goal by former Orlando Pirates winger Thabo Rakhale.
Christian Saile produced the first shot on target after 10 minutes but it was easily saved by the Rollers keeper.
Chiefs thought they should’ve had a penalty when Christian Saile was brought down inside the box, however the referee waved play on because there was a slight touch on the ball by the Rollers defender after 22 minutes.
Rollers had their best chance after 32 minutes when number 15 tested Brandon Petersen with a shot from inside the box but the goalie pushed the ball just wide with a superb save.
A minute later a shot by Mduduzi Shabalala was pushed away to a corner by the Rollers keeper.
The game remained dead logged at the break, with Shabalala looking the liveliest for the visitors.
Rollers introduced South African duo Thabo Rakhale and Tshepo ‘Skhwama’ Matete, who both joined the club this window, after 56 minutes.
The second half was disrupted by more injuries for both sides, with Ashley Du Preez making his return to the pitch for the first time since he picked up his injury against Cape Town City in May.
Rakhale scored the opener for the home side after 79 minutes with a fine finish past Bruce Bvuma who had come on at half-time.
It remains the only goal of the match, as Chiefs collected a second 1-0 loss on their African tour.
