Former Raja Athletic Club coach Lassaad Chabbi who won the 2020 CAF Confederation Cup has made a surprise return to football.
The Austrian-born Tunisian who famously led Raja past the likes of Orlando Pirates, Pyramids and JS Kabyile to win the title has been lured back with Difaâ El Jadida.
He arrives back after a stint back in his homeland with Ligue 1 giants Etoile du Sahel but is said to have been enticed by the ‘ambitious project’ at El Jadida.
After finishing eighth in the table last season, investment is expected to be made at the three-time league runners-up as they push for silverware against the traditional giants of the country.
Chabbi has signed a two-year deal after his arrival on Sunday evening and will officially be unveiled to the media via a press conference on Tuesday.
