Downs Star Among 6 To Miss PSL Restart

Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Aubrey Modiba is among six players who are suspended for the restart of the DStv Premiership.

Modiba received a second sending off in the MTN8 semi-final second leg 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates on 22 October after receiving two yellow cards in the match.

He did the same earlier against in Downs’ 1-0 win over Chippa United, which resulted in the Bafana Bafana international receiving a three-match ban.

He already served two of those matches in Masandawana’s final two games before the FIFA World Cup break, but will also miss the restart against the Buccaneers.

But Modiba is not the only player to miss the return of domestic football, with Cape Town City youngster Jaedin Rhodes and Marumo Gallants Celimpilo Ngema also suspended.

In addition, Sekhukhune United have Asekho Tiwani, Elias Mokwena and Pogiso Mahlangu sidelined with suspension.
