DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are close to signing Chilean midfielder Marcelo Allende, according to reports in Chile.
The 23-year-old is set to join Masandawana, leaving Uruguayan side Montevideo City Torque.
He made his Chile debut in December 2021 and is highly praised in South American media, who call the transfer a “surprise move”.

Allende has already said goodbye to his teammates and will soon start his third appearance abroad, according to En Cancha journalist Cesar Luis Merlo.
He made 20 appearances for Montevideo this season, scoring six goals and assisting another three.
Sundowns would be the attacking midfielder’s fifth club after stints with Deportes Santa Cruz, Necaxa de Mexico, Magallanes and Montevideo – should the move go through.
