TS Galaxy and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi will join Orlando Pirates at the end of the season, iDiski Times has learnt

The 25-year-old has had a stellar campaign, keeping nine clean sheets for the Rockets in 19 appearances, which hasn’t gone unnoticed.

In September, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos called him up to his for the friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana in September, and again for the internationals against Mozambique and Angola.

The former Jomo Cosmos shot stoppers has developed into one of the country’s most promising goalkeepers, having kept nine clean-sheets in 19 appearances and conceded 13 goals in the current campaign.

With Pirates still keen on strengthening their goalkeeping department, this publication has learnt the Buccaneers have signed Buthelezi on a three-year deal, with a two-year option, while Siyabonga Mpontshane seems likely to leave the club, as already reported by iDiski Times in edition 97 of the newspaper.

“Buthelezi is a top goalkeeper, I am happy for him and this move will also help him when it comes to Bafana Bafana. He signed three years with a two-year option to extend,” a close source confirmed to iDiski Times

Meanwhile, Galaxy will have a lot of building work to do next season, as they will lose their captain Given Msimango to Kaizer Chiefs in the off season after he penned a four-year deal with Amakhosi.
