Golden Arrows have become the first club to reinforce their squad ahead of the January transfer window that is coming up.
They have signed defender Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo from Marumo Gallants, capturing him on free transfer after he was released by Gallants following the arrival of coach Dan Malesela at the Limpopo outfit.
The 28-year-old featured in seven league matches for Gallants, with his last appearance coming against Chippa United in September.
Arrows are finally replacing Nkosinathi Sibisi at the back, who left during the off season to join Orlando Pirates.
They didn’t replace him then, and it showed when the season started, losing the first two matches of the campaign. They were at the bottom of the table and the pressure was mounting on co-coaches Vusi Vilakazi and Mabhuti Khenyenza.

It sent alarm bells ringing as the last time that happened in the 2013/14 season they were relegated in that term. Arrows were up and running. It took them five games to register their first league win of the season, beating their city rivals AmaZulu.
They have since climbed up the ladder to eighth with 16 points after 13 matches, ending the first round of the season with a 2-0 victory over provincial rivals Maritzburg United on 28 October.
Hlatshwayo will add some more stability to their side after they conceded 15 goals in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign so far.
