Carling Black Label have revealed the latest starting XIs for the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup, with several changes in the Kaizer Chiefs XI and two changes in the Orlando Pirates XI.

The event will take place on 12 November, when Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu meet in the first semi-final before Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will meet in another Soweto Derby, with the winners of both clashes moving on to the final.

However, there were a few changes to the line-ups due to various injuries at the four teams, with only Orlando Pirates so far being spared.

“Due to injury, some players have had to be removed from the starting line-up, however as promised, Champion fans will be given the opportunity to transfer their votes to an alternative player. Fans should look for sms communication from Carling Black Label that will inform them of ‘super votes’ which will reallocate all their votes,” Carling Black Label said via a statement.

“Injured star players include Kaizer Chiefs fan-favourite Itumeleng Khune as well as Bon-Fils Caleb Bimenyimana who were both in the Carling Black Label Cup team, have now made for Brandon Petersen and Khama Billiat as goalkeeper and striker, respectively. (In addition, Zitha Kwinika also overtook Reeve Frosler in the current XI.)

“Mamelodi Sundowns strikers Cassius Mailula and Thabiso Kutumela have also made their way in to the starting line-up as Peter Shalulile and Abubaker Nasir have been ruled out after picking up injuries.

“While Amazulu has only ruled out one player, Bonginkosi Ntuli who also has an injury. Although the striker was not in the current starting XI, he had accumulated just under 2500 votes. Fans of Usuthu who had voted for Ntuli will receive the votes back, and can use the votes to select any other player.

“The Orlando Pirates starting line-up remains intact, with no injuries reported as fans have now voted in Monnapule Saleng and Miguel Timm in place of Vincent Pule and Fortune Makaringe.”

Fans can still vote for their favourite starting XIs until 6 November.
