Bucs Coach Upset With Derby Defeat

Orlando Pirates coach Sergio Almenara was quite upset with his side’s Soweto Derby defeat, insisting Kaizer Chiefs didn’t create enough chances to deserve their win.
Almenara was again on the sidelines because head coach Jose Riveiro was still suspended for this match after being sent off in the Nedbank Cup.
The Spaniard was also on post-match duty and felt, while Chiefs had edged the first half, Pirates were better in the second before Innocent Maela was sent off.
“In the first half, they were better than us. We had some disadjustments in defence and they were taking advantage of that,” he told SuperSport TV.
“We used the the half-time to readjust this. We came into the second half, we were better than them in our opinion and then in the worst moment came the red.
“We have to analyse this action, how it come to the run one-against-one. We’ll see tomorrow when we analyse the game.”
Almenara, who was visibly upset, also stated he believes Chiefs didn’t too much to deserve their win.
“I think it was one half for Chiefs, the second half we were better than them,” he added.
“We readjust, we’re better at creating. They didn’t create [chances] in the second half, the goal was an own goal, they didn’t have anything.
“It’s a bit unfair, honestly.”
