The Miss SA Organisation has announced that media personality Bonang Matheba, also known as Queen B, will be hosting the finale of the Miss SA 2023 pageant. The event will take place at Sun International’s flagship venue, SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria on Sunday 13 August. The pageant will be broadcast live on SABC 3 and other platforms.

The host’s experience

Bonang Matheba is no stranger to the Miss SA pageant. She has hosted the finale twice before, in 2018 and in 2019, when Zozibini Tunzi won the crown and later became Miss Universe. She was also a judge on the Miss SA panel in 2014, when Rolene Strauss won the title and later became Miss World.

This year, Bonang has played an even bigger role in the pageant, as a judge on the Miss SA television series Crown Chasers, which aired for five weeks on SABC 3. The series followed the journey of the top 30 contestants as they competed for a spot in the top 10. Bonang also owns House of BNG Cap Classique, which is the official Miss South Africa celebration sponsor.

The host’s excitement

Bonang Matheba expressed her excitement and honour to be hosting the pageant again this year. She said that she started out watching the pageant as a young girl, and that she never imagined that she would be part of it. She said that she loved the pageant because it was an institution in South Africa and it showcased the beauty and diversity of South African women.

She also said that she was proud of how the pageant has grown and evolved over the years, and how it has become a force to be reckoned with in global competitions. She said that the pageant reflects where women are now, how they feel and what they want to achieve. She said that she was looking forward to hosting the show and celebrating the new Miss SA.
