Bimenyimana Opens Up On Chiefs Exit

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has broken his silence on his Kaizer Chiefs exit, saying he is “really happy to be free”.

Earlier on Wednesday, Amakhosi had announced they “have come to an agreement with striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to part ways after one season”.

Bimenyimana scored eight goals in 21 appearances for the Glamour Boys – more than any other player but had fallen down the pecking order at the club.

He was now released and frees up a foreign quota spot, while he himself becomes a free agent to join a club of his choice.

After Chiefs confirmed the news, the striker took to Instagram to open up on his exit.

“It was a hard decision to take but after all what happened it worth it,” he stated.

“All I can say is thank you lord, my prayers has been answered.

“I feel really happy to be free. God never disappoints me. I can’t wait for the next chapter.”

There were loan enquiries in the DStv Premiership, Ukraine and a concrete offer arriving from the Ekstraklasa in Poland – with Europe being his preferred next move but nothing materialised.

He came close to joining Moroccan giants Wydad AC but the move failed in the last minute after Bimenyimana had already traveled to Morocco.
