AmaZulu Reveal Shocking Issues With Buses

AmaZulu FC have revealed they’ve had serious issues with several buses on their trip to Guinea to face Horoya AC in the CAF Champions League.
Usuthu went down in the first half but managed to get an equaliser in the 48th minute after a low cross from Thabo Qalinge was deflected by Salif Coulibaly into his own net.
Vasili Manousakis, who is the assistant coach at the club, explained the team experienced several issues with buses during their trip to Conakry, which affected their performance..
“To be honest no, we not satisfied, we came to win the game we had the best chance of winning the game in the second half, we were a completely a different team from the first half and I think that was playing for everybody,” he told media after the match.
“I think the next objective now is to push as high as we can in the league to finish as high as we can.
“To finish in a Champions League space first or second is gonna be very difficult but I think you need to understand why I’m a little bit disappointed because when you watch the game today you watched an AmaZulu team that didn’t train yesterday, that got off the aero plane and had unbelievable amount of challenges with buses that were not working that broke down, that destroyed our team the harmony and a team that didn’t train yesterday in the stadium or at all, that delivered a second half performance like that was an unbelievable performance.”
“I’m very, very proud of this team despite all the challenges for what they achieved so if we had the opportunity to do that over 90 minutes, perhaps we could’ve won the game.
“But we go again we have a game Wednesday night back in South Africa and the objective as I said is to get back as high as we can and get top four finish.”
Manousakis stated they were not happy with the first-half performance but changed things around and did much better in the second interval.
“I think the first difference was the size of the pitch. The pitch here was very, very small something we weren’t used to. That disrupted the way we play, you could see in the first half we had challenges and problems to build up, we tried to play deep balls behind the defense.
“In the first half we set back too much against the opposition, so we didn’t put enough pressure and that’s what we changed in the second half.
“And as a results of changing tactics we started to find more space, we started to create much better chances, with the difference at the end of the day was certainly the challenges that we’ve had on this trip but in the end will have to take the point.
“Its a very good point, losing at home to ES Setif was a big blow for us at the end of the day when you coming here there’s nothing to really to play for.”
“The challenges was certainly the very big contribution to why we didn’t win, but I think we also have to respect Horoya AC. They are a fantastic team, they play some really good football, they play Champions League every year.”
AmaZulu FC who are currently sitting ninth on the DStv Premiership log with seven games to go will travel to Baroka FC on Wednesday.
