ABC Motsepe Play-Off Groups Confirmed

The 2023 ABC Motsepe League National Playoff qualification groups have been confirmed after the draw took place at SAFA House on Monday morning.

Eight of the representatives from the nine provinces in the country have been confirmed, with only the Free State yet to finalise the champion of their respective stream.

In what will be three groups of three, Amavarara, Dondol Stars, Mlambo Royal Club, Mpeni Home Defenders, Obrit College, Umsinga United, Upington City, and Young Bafana were placed into the pots at the official draw, alongside the to be determined Free State club.

The Motsepe Foundation is now in its tenth year of sponsorship of the third-tier of South African football and negotiations are ongoing with the South African Football Association to extend the partnership further.

In what will be a round-robin system, with three groups of three, each team will play two games, with three group winners advancing to the semi-finals and the best second-placed side will complete the last four.

• Umsinga United (KZN)
• TBC (Free State)

Group B:

• Amavarara (Eastern Cape)
• Young Bafana (Western Cape)
• Upington City (Northern Cape)

Group C:

• Orbit College (North West)
• Mpheni Home Defenders (Limpopo)
• Mlambo Royal Cubs (Mpumalanga)

The playoffs will take place in KwaZulu Natal at the King Zwelithini and Sugar Ray Xulu Stadiums between 5 and 11 June 2023.
