Stellenbosch & Chiefs Starting XIs Announced

Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership encounter at Athlone Stadium.

Stellenbosch are coming to this game with their tail between the legs after a 2-1 defeat against SuperSport United four days ago.

The Cape Winelands side started the season on a high note, beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 at home and booking a place in the semi-finals of the MTN8.

A surprising loss away from home against Polokwane City and the one against Matsatsantsa sandwiched a 3-1 win at Royal AM, with Steve Barker’s side currently sitting on six points from four games.

Amakhosi on the other side aim to claim their successive wins for the first time under Molefi Ntseki after beating AmaZulu 3-0 on Saturday. Chiefs are currently sitting just outside top eight with four points after four games.

Ntseki had a difficult start to the campaign, collecting just one point in his first three games, leading to the ugly scenes at Peter Mokaba Stadium when fans threw objects at him.

He will hope new signings Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi and Tebogo Pontsana continue with their fine form after they have been involved in most of his side’s goals so far.

Chiefs have had the upper hand over Stellies last season, completing the double in the league, while also knocking them out of the MTN8 on penalties.
