Ngcobo – Chiefs Ready For New Season
Kaizer Chiefs are putting all the pieces together to ensure they will be ready for the “war” they are going to face this season, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo said.
Chiefs had one of the club’s worst seasons under coach Arthur Zwane last term, recording 12 league defeats which was the first time the club accumulated as many in the PSL era.
Zwane, who was handed a three-year deal at the start of last season, has since been removed as head coach, with Molefi Ntseki handed the head coaching role as the Soweto giants aim to avoid the repeat of last season.
Ntseki, who was working as Head of Academy last term, has been tasked with ending the club’s trophy drought this coming season.
Ngcobo, who was ruled out for a large part of last season, sounded positive about this coming campaign in the club’s second phase of the pre-season.
“Pre-season is about physical preparation, tactical preparation and mental also to make sure that when we leave camp we are ready for the war that we are going to face,” said Ngcobo.
“Come the season we are ready to put whatever information that is given to us and we are ready to fight for the badge.”
The club’s first match of the new season will be at home to Chippa United, before they face defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns away from him and Cape Town City in the MTN8.
