Khune Sends Message To Kaizer After Latest Deal

Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune has heaped praise on Chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung after securing the final playing contract of his career.

The one-club man will now go into two decades of service with Amakhosi, with the final season of transitioning into coach and brand ambassador with the marketing team.

Khune, 36, is widely considered as one of the finest goalkeepers in the nation’s history and he shared an emotional tribute to one of the influential figures of his iconic career.

“Charity begins at home, I am who I am today of the opportunity you gave me. Dr. [Kaizer] Motaung, you have taught, developed and natured me to be [the] humble leader I am today.

“I’m grateful for trusting me with the brand for 20 years,” he wrote on social media.”

Khune racked up 91 caps for Bafana Bafana and over 400 professional appearances for the Soweto giants.
