Pitso Mosimane picked up a draw on the last day of the Saudi First Division, with his Al Ahli Saudi FC side holding Al Hazem to a 0-0 on Monday.

Mosimane’s side had already secured promotion three weeks ago, and also added the title of the Yelo League in another historic season last week.

On Monday, Al Ahli played the final game of their 2022/23 season, drawing 0-0 with third-placed Al Hazem.

The result saw Al Ahli move to 72 points on the log, four ahead of Al Hazem who fell back into third place

‘Jingles’ found Al Ahli in seventh place when he took over after five match rounds and collected 18 wins, seven draws and just three defeats he secured the Saudi First Division title.

It was Mosimane’s 19th career trophy, and his sixth league title – he won five Premier Soccer League titles with Mamelodi Sundowns and now his first in Saudi Arabia.

However, it seems Mosimane will soon depart Al Ahli, with the club’s leadership understood to be keen on European coach to guide them back in the Saudi Pro League.

As a consequence they will not activate a one-year option in the South African’s contract, who also recently stated on social media he and his technical team are “waiting for the next project”.
