3 Downs Stars In CAFCL Team Of The Week

Three Mamelodi Sundowns players made the CAF Champions League Team of the Week after their 4-1 demolition of CR Belouizdad in Algiers on Saturday.

Peter Shalulile scored a brace to take his tally to five goals in the competition and level Raja Atheltic Club star Hamza Khabba as the competition’s leading goalscorer, and also set up Neo Maema for his side’s second.

As a consequence, it doesn’t surprise that Shalulile makes the Team of the Week. Alongside him are his teammates Aubrey Modiba, who set up Shalulile’s first goal, and Teboho Mokoena.

Despite their commanding win, Sundowns didn’t have the most representatives in the Team of the Week, as record champions Al Ahly had four of their players in the selection.

Goalscorers Mohamed Abdelmonem and Hamdi Fathi were joined by right-back Mohamed Hany and midfielder Marwan Attia.

Meanwhile, Esperance Tunis and Simba SC had both two players in the CAFCL Team of the Week.
