Riveiro – People Don’t Realise How Important He Is

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has praised Kabelo Dlamini after he scored his first goal for the Buccaneers this season.

Dlamini, 26, has provided five assists for the Sea Robbers this season but hadn’t found the back of the net since May 2022.

However, that changed in Gqeberha on Saturday, where he scored the opener in Pirates’ 2-0 win at Chippa United to wild celebrations of his teammates and the technical team.

After the match, Riveiro was full of praise for the attacking midfielder, who hasn’t always been a fan favourite at his club.

“Absolutely, we have a lot of quality in our front department,” he told SuperSport TV.

“I’m not going to discover Lorch, now with Dlamini people sometimes don’t realise how important he is for us, how much he helps us in our build-up process.

“I’m so happy for the boy because today he managed to get one goal and it’s going to be very important for him for the future.”

The win saw Pirates move back into second place, level on 43 points with SuperSport United, but ahead on goal difference.
