Saile Comments On Impressive Chiefs Debut

New Kaizer Chiefs striker Christian Saile Basomboli has reacted to his Amakhosi debut, which earned him laurels from head coach Arthur Zwane.
Basomboli, 22, came off the bench in Chiefs’ 2-0 win over Royal and assisted his side’s second goal by Ashley Du Preez.
He was the club’s only January signing, with Chiefs fans hopeful he can add more firepower to the squad, which has relied on the goals on Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
He’s discussed his feelings around his debut, from getting his clearance to the reception by the faithful of the Glamour Boys.
“I was very happy when I found out my documents were ready because I wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs as soon as possible,” he told his club’s media team.
“I was very pleased to be involved in the match day squad.
“I got a good reception from the Chiefs fans. As a new player it made me feel good to hear them welcome me.
“They must keep supporting and pushing us on. We’ll do the best we can to make them happy.”
Basomboli was given the No.21 shirt, which Chiefs fans will have in good memory after the exploits of former striker Knowledge Musona in the same number.
“I like jersey number 21, it’s a good number. When the coach offered it to me, I said, ‘That’s good for me’,” he added.
Chiefs and Basomboli are back in action on Sunday, when they will face TS Galaxy.
