SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of former Cape Town City and Maritzburg United utility player Zukile Kewuti.
The 27-year-old joins as a free agent after leaving Maritzburg towards the end of 2022. He had joined the Team of Choice back in 2021 after departing Cape Town City.
Having broken through at City back in 2018, Kewuti first ventured out on loan during the 2020/2021 season, at AmaZulu, where he teamed up with Benni McCarthy, his former City coach.
But this will be the first time the Capetonian is based in Gauteng.
“I’m grateful to be here,” Kewuti told the SuperSport media department.
“I’m happy to be here. I’m grateful to be at a team that has so much ambitions. So I’m totally happy to be here.”
Kewuti has been training with the team for the past month and says he has been engaging well with his new teammates.
“I’m engaging very well,” he continued.
“I’ve (met) a lot of characters. So ja, I’m engaging very, very, very, very well. I know who has what strength and what so not.”
He is also looking forward to working with coach Gavin Hunt.
“Working with Gavin Hunt it’s a pleasure, I won’t lie,” Kewuti enthused.
“I always wanted to work with Gavin. He is a coach with ambitions. He loves winning.

“It seems like winning is the first priority to him. So ja, I’m willing to work under him very, very well, and build a good relationship with him.”
“I found the team in the number two spot so for me, we won’t drop any points,” he concluded.
“We’ll go forward from where we are now, hopefully to win a trophy, or one or two this season.”
