Would Benzema Get a WC Winners Medal?
France striker Karim Benzema would seemingly be eligible for a World Cup winners medal should Les Bleus beat Argentina, with coach Didier Deschamps snubbing talk of his potential return.
Benzema, 34, was ruled out of the tournament after picking up a quadriceps injury, but has now returned to Real Madrid training.
Some reports even state he could return to France’s camp ahead of Sunday’s final against Argentina, but Deschamps wasn’t prepared to discuss the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner.
“I don’t really want to answer that question. Next question. I do apologise,” he said, as per FOX Sports.

Benzema, though, would seemingly qualify for a World Cup winners medal despite not having kicked a ball in Qatar.
The reason for this situation is that Deschamps never called up an official replacement for the injured striker, and technically he is still part of France’s World Cup squad.
AFP, though, report that the French Federation would have the final say whether Benzema will be regarded as a World Cup winner and potentially even get a medal.
Benzema has been incredibly unlucky with World Cup tournaments, missing his third edition after being snubbed in the 2010 and 2018 editions.
Do you think Benzema should get a World Cup medal, if France win the tournament?
