The draw for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup Group Stages, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed.

CAF confirmed the news on Tuesday and have said a new date and time will be issued in due course.

South Africa has two teams still competing in the competitions, with Mamelodi Sundowns involved in the CAFCL, while Marumo Gallants are in the draw for the CAFCC.

The other two teams who were involved both exited in the last qualifying round with Cape Town City losing 1-0 on aggregate to USM Alger in the CAFCC, after Petro De Lunda had eliminated them 3-0 on aggregate in the CAFCL. The other team in the CAFCC, Royal AM, lost 3-0 on aggregate to TP Mazembe.

No official reason for the postponement was mentioned in the statement issued.

“CAF Interclub Group Stage draw postponed,” the statement read.

“The CAF interclub Group Stages draw for TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup has been postponed.

“The draw was initially scheduled for Wednesday, 16 November 2022.

A new date and time will be announced in due course. CAF apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this change.”
