Kabelo Phasha vows to help Leopards gain automatic promotion
New Black Leopards signing Kabelo Phasha has pledged to put in the hard work to help Lidoda Duvha gain automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
The left-back joined the Vhembe-based outfit from Limpopo ABC Motsepe side Ditlou FC.
The youngster insists that he will put in an extra effort in order to make his transition to the Motsepe Foundation Championship a successful one.
Phasha was signed alongside Ndamu Radzilani, Bethuel Muzeu, Wanga Khorommbi, Thapelo Maleka, Mashudu Makhuvha, Leope Lephalala, Vusi Mkwanazi, Evans Forane and Toporo Motsuku.
He played a significant role in helping his previous club survive the chop last season. Ditlou finished seventh position in Stream B of the provincial ABC League with 18 points from 16 outings.
In an interview with FARPost during Leopards’ gala dinner at Malamulele Community Hall, the rising star said: “I still can’t believe that I have reached where I have always wanted to be. What I have to do right now is to work hard as an individual and for the team.
“From here, I want to see myself in the next level [playing in the PSL] and only God knows what he has offer for me.
“But credit goes to the Elephants [Ditlou] for putting me on the map. Thanks to club’s chairman [Mr Mesh Maila], he is one who made sure I get this opportunity. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here.”
The new Leopards recruit continued: “I have joined ‘Hasha Mulilo’ with the aim of helping them come back to the top-flight because it’s my duty to do so as a player. I’m not here because of money but to work. Money will come after.”
Leopards will play their first match of the season at home against Hungry Lions. The kick-off is at 15:00.
