Doris Tshepe appointed head of Competition Commission

Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ebrahim Patel has appointed Doris Tshepe as the new head of the Competition Commission. Tshepe has been a practising attorney for over 20 years specialising in constitutional and administrative law, legislative drafting, media and communication law.

In 2019, she served on an advisory panel on the major amendments to the Competition Act, which was signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2019.

She also served as a Judicial Service Commissioner. Tshepe will assume her duties in September.
