Official: Chiefs Continue Clear Out

Kaizer Chiefs have continued their squad clear out on Thursday, after seven players were already released on Wednesday.
Amakhosi started the day by releasing Dumisani Zuma a year before the expiry of his contract after “numerous disciplinary issues”.
On Wednesday, Kaizer Chiefs had already confirmed the departures of Samir Nurkovic, Lazalous Kambole, Daniel Cardoso, Kearyn Baccus, Leonardo Castro, Lebogang Manyama and Daniel Akpeyi, whose contracts are running out in June.
In addition, Anthony Agay was put on the transfer list, while the club also parted ways with goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter.
Next out the door at Naturena was veteran Bernard Parker.
“Kaizer Chiefs will sadly not renew Bernard Parker’s contract when it expires at the end of June 2022,” the club said in a statement.
“Parker, a bona fide Kaizer Chiefs legend, will leave the Club he has served with distinction for 11 years.
“He joined Chiefs in 2011 from the Eredivisie side, FC Twente and his glittering career saw him play 359 matches for Amakhosi and found the net 62 times.
“His exceptional talent and leadership helped Amakhosi to win four major trophies, including two league titles. His professionalism, both on and off the field, is an object example to any aspiring young footballer…
“Thank you for your great service and dedication to the Club, ‘Hond’. You remain a true legend.”
