Celebrities arrived in style and showed off their most expensive and creative outfits at the 2026 Met Gala. The event took place on Monday, May 4, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. As always, the gala celebrated the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, titled “Costume Art.”

TYLA STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT AGAIN

South African Grammy winner Tyla made a powerful return to the Met Gala red carpet. This marked her third appearance at the prestigious event, and she did not disappoint. According to Vogue, Tyla shut down the red carpet once again with her bold fashion choice.

She wore a custom Valentino outfit designed by Alessandro Michele. Her long dress featured a satin bleu paon skirt with a deep slit and an embroidered silver rhinestone waistline. The tulle top included long sleeves and a deep-V neckline, finished with fringes and silver sequins. The entire look highlighted her figure and aligned perfectly with the exhibition’s focus on how fashion interacts with the human body.

INSPIRED BY PEACOCKS

During her red-carpet interview with Vogue, Tyla shared the inspiration behind her look. She said, “I was inspired by peacocks.” Her outfit reflected that vision through its bold textures, shimmering details, and striking silhouette.

TYLA CONTINUES TO OWN THE RED CARPET

Tyla has built a reputation for unforgettable Met Gala appearances. During her first appearance in 2024, she shocked the world with a moulded-sand Balmain gown. The strapless dress featured three types of sand mixed with micro-crystals and was moulded to her body, creating a fragile yet striking masterpiece.

The look perfectly captured the “Sands of Time” theme and quickly went viral, proving that Tyla knows how to make a lasting impression.

 A-LIST GLAMOUR AND SURPRISING NO-SHOWS

Many celebrities attended the Met Gala and looked stunning, including Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively, whose lawsuit with Justin Baldoni has ended, Beyoncé, Cardi B and many more.

Unfortunately, as this is one of the most talked-about events of the year, some celebrities like Zendaya did not attend.
