Somizi Mhlongo snubs Ngizwe Mchunu at Metro FM Music Awards afterparty

Tension flared at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026 afterparty when Somizi Mhlongo reportedly declined to engage with Ngizwe Mchunu.

According to widely shared videos from the event, Mchunu approached a VIP section where Somizi was seated.

The interaction appeared tense from the start, with Somizi refusing to shake hands and allegedly instructing security to prevent Mchunu from entering the area.

The incident is believed to be linked to previous public remarks made by Mchunu, which had targeted Somizi and members of the LGBTQ+ community, leading to long-standing tension between the two public figures.

In the clip, Mchunu is seen reacting angrily after being stopped from accessing the VIP space, reportedly exchanging heated words before being escorted away by security.

The moment has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many revisiting the history between the two personalities.
