Cristiano Ronaldo could make his debut in Saudi Arabia in a friendly match against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain.
The 37-year-old missed his side’s 2-0 win over Al Tai because he is still serving a two-match ban from his time with Manchester United. As a consequence, Ronaldo is also expected to miss his side’s clash with Al-Shabab on 14 January.
However, many fans now expect him to be fielded in a friendly match against Paris Saint-Germain when an “all-star XI from Saudi top clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr” will face the Ligue 1 champions on 17 January.
PSG confirmed their trip to Saudi Arabia on Monday morning, which could mean fans are in for might be the final clash between Ronaldo and his longstanding rival Messi.
“The team will fly out on January 17th to Doha then travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to play against an all-star XI from Saudi top clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr,” PSG stated on their website.
“The match will be held at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on January 19th. The team will fly back after the game to Paris.
“The friendly game will be broadcast on PSG TV, PSG social media and beIN Sports network.”
Messi returned to PSG training recently after an extended break following Argentina’s triumph at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He is expected to make the squad when PSG face Angers on Wednesday.
