Orlando Pirates overtakes Kaizer Chiefs in signing the South African coach



In the running for the requested signature by Cavin Johnson, the Siya crew might disclose Orlando Pirates overtook the Archrivals of the Kaizers.

Johnson has become a free agent, according to the Siya crew in Soccer Laduma edition 1243, after divising with Al Ahly, where he served as Pitso Mosimane’s assistant for 11 month.

Pirates have overtaken Chiefs in pursuit of 62 years by officially initiating discussions with the veteran campaigners.

Chiefs had past interest in Johnson while he still was on the books of Al Ahly, but since the hiring of Molefi Ntseki, the interest in him has faded.

Now that leaders appear to have been out of the battle for Johnson, it has paved their bitter opponents’ way to land their husband.

Now it remains to be seen how the talks are progressing between the Pirates and the Johnson camp, with questions about whether the former AmaZulu instructor will be ropeted as a head coach or serving first team coach Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids in a consultative capacity.
