The governing party has been marred by too much misfortune lately. Top officials have either been killed or involved in car accidents. In another bizarre incident, a Mpumalanga ANC top official has found himself in an unfortunate situation. Mpumalanga MEC Speedy Mashilo hijacked.

A Statement released by the Mpumalanga government states that the incident took place in Kwamhlanga in Mpumalanga. The MEC was confronted by and men who forced him to stop. The gunmen drove him to East Rand and dropped him off near Olifantsfontein. They robbed him of his possessions which included money, laptops and cellphone. The hijackers then drove off in his Toyota double cab.

It is concerning that Mashilo was not driving with any bodyguard. ANC doesn’t even care about safety and security of the citizens of the country. Criminals are in control because the leadership is fighting for political positions instead of serving us with dignity and respect. Mpumalanga is known for its mafia tendencies.

Apparently ANC officials are always fighting over positions there. Since the years when Deputy President David Mabuza was still Premier of the province, stories of criminality have been always been the order of the day.

Maybe the hijacking was another way of threatening Mashilo. Who knows!

Speculation is rife that Mashilo is an enemy to the suspended Agriculture MEC Mandla Msibi who was arrested on murder charges. Supporters of Msibi have publicly voqed that they would deal with whoever is standing in the way of their ally.
