Kaizer chiefs set to conclude Njabulo Ngcobo’s deal

Kaizer Chiefs are thought to have taken a step closer to Swallows’ signature of Njabulo Ngcobo.

Indications indicate that the two clubs have agreed, in principle, on the transfer of the Defender of the Season, and the only remaining hurdle in concluding a possible move to Naturena is personal terms.

Back in February, the Siya team broke out the chiefs’ interest in Ngcobo, as the Glamor Boys began evaluating the targets for the coming season, under then coach Gavin Hunt.

Since then, Stuart Baxter has replaced him.

However, Amakhosi were not the only team eager on the Ngcobo, and in March Siya sources told the crew that Mamelodi Sundowns had taken part in the 27-year-old race, even though the chiefs remained favorites.

Swallows are hopeful to get players to the deal if Amakhosi does truly finish the trade and the two clubs have proven a good relationship as long as their days at GladAfrica championship.

The combo, Philani Zulu and Dumisani Zuma, whose names have been found in a probable player exchange, possibly excluded by his long injury layoff.

The connection between the two Soweto clubs is demonstrated by the fact that Given Thibedi has loaned at the Dube Birds in 2020 and 21, whereas Sifiso Hlanti and Kgaogelo Sekgotá – two actors who signed up for chiefs before they called for the FIFA ban to be reversed – were also allowed to move to Swallows at the end of last year.

Downs might still be able to hide the acquisition because of their big funds, but Siya insiders said that it is doubtful.

The transfer ban of the chiefs will be officially repealed on 1 July.
