Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci receive stars on Walk of Fame

Stanley Tucci and his sister-in-law, Emily Blunt, became the latest celebrities to be honoured with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday.

The Devil Wears Prada stars were surrounded by their loved ones and Hollywood friends, namely Meryl Streep, Robert Downey jr, Matt Damon, and Dwayne Johnson, who paid tribute to them.

These were the 2,841st and 2,842nd stars in the Motion Pictures category.

Part of Downey Jr.’s speech praised Blunt and husband John Krasinski.

“Emily is an outright blunt object. She is the girlfriend you never had in high school. She’s the scene partner you will never forget, and she’s the wife you can’t resent Krasinski for landing because he’s equally dynamic, and this guy’s impossible not to love. And I honestly think that this self-protective feature of their matrimony couldn’t have been planned, but it just works a treat and preserves itself,” Downey Jr. said.

Blunt and Tucci gave their own speeches at the ceremony.

“It’s very difficult to sum up just how meaningful this is to me, and the juggernauts that showed up to speak about me have just blown my hair back, and the great loves of my life who are all here have made life such a deep privilege… And I’m so honoured to share it with the Tucc, behind me. And that we spend far too much time together, and we’re gonna spend more time together as people trample over us,” Blunt said.

“It really is a great, great honour for me, having come to Hollywood so many years ago, between the wars. And the fact that I end up on the sidewalk is appropriate,” Tucci’s speech said in part.

Tucci, 65, married Blunt’s, 43, sister Felicity after first meeting her at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada in 2006.
