Dstv Premiership Club owner to sell her car worth R16 million in order to fund her club

The DA expressed its disappointment at the decision of eThekwini Municipality to offer a partnership to the millionary DStv Premiership side of Shauwn Mkhize, Royal AM.



The Democratic Alliance (DA) has voiced disappointment with the decision taken by eThekwini Municipality to provide the multimillionaire DStv Premiership side shauwn Mkhize, Royal AM, a partnership.



Tuesday it was reported that R15,75 million is due to be received for a three-year period by the team that just relocated to KwaZulu-Natal, previously known as Bloemfontein celtic.

This is R5.25 million every year.



The Mayor of eThekwini and Exco President Mxolisi Kaunda noted that DStv’s sponsorship team is aligned with their present approach, that is, to expand tourism prospects in Durban.



However, IOL says it was wrong to spend taxpayers’ money on Mkhizes who spent R50 million on buying the club at the virtual meeting of the municipal executives committee on Tuesday – and another R16 million on the Rolls Royce.
